A 17-year-old Mississauga girl is in hospital after a two-car crash on the 401 which landed her vehicle in a ditch.

Shortly after 4:30am Saturday, the teen was driving westbound on the 401 when, just west of Mavis Road, she rear-ended a pick-up truck. Her gold-coloured Honda then struck the right guard rail and vaulted over it into the ditch.

The girl was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, then transferred to St. Michael’s Hospital.

The driver of the pick-up truck was not hurt and there were no other passengers in either vehicle.

Witnesses are asked to call police at 905-278-6131 or 1-888-310-1122.
