No weapon was found Monday afternoon after police rushed to a high school on Overlea Boulevard in response to a student reportedly spotted carrying a gun.
Officers from the Emergency Task Force were called to Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute at 135 Overlea Blvd. just after 1pm after someone claimed to have spotted a student with a firearm.
The school was placed on lockdown but police later confirmed that no weapon was found, instead stating a female student had allegedly been threatened.
The lockdown has since been lifted.
Valley Park Middle School, which is right across the street, was also put into secure mode during the search but was later reopened.
