It was a deadly morning on the roads with two fatal accidents reported before 7am.

One person was killed when a tractor-trailer and a car collided at Highways 7 and 50 just before 6am Tuesday, leaving the smaller vehicle badly mangled.

Authorities closed off the area around the busy intersection for their investigation and it was off-limits to motorists for the entire morning rush.

Another serious accident resulted in lane closures on Highway 400.

A tractor-trailer crashed into the guardrail just south of King Road, forcing police to close two southbound lanes on the very busy stretch of highway.

The crash left a lot of debris on the road and also resulted in a fuel spill. The clean-up and investigation lasted through the morning.

And police are investigating yet another accident that happened early Tuesday that claimed a pedestrian’s life.

The woman was crossing the street at Warden Avenue and Cataraqui Crescent, just north of Danforth Road, when she was struck by a car around 6:30am. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
