Jarvis St. Remy, who was shot to death while waiting for a bus last spring, would’ve turned 19-years-old this week and his distraught relatives are once again asking the public for help in solving the senseless crime.

After visiting a friend on May 1st, the teen was standing at a bus stop on Dundas Street West, near Scarlett Road, around 10:45pm when two men emerged from the shadows and opened fire. St. Remy, described by his family as an excellent student looking forward to a career in engineering, was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

On Tuesday, friends and family gathered at the bus stop near Lambton Park where St. Remy was killed and released 19 burgundy balloons to mark his 19th birthday.

Despite the family’s great loss, St. Remy's grandmother offered a tempered and gracious plea to the killers.

“My one hope is that whoever killed Jarvis will find it in their heart to at least turn themselves in. If it was mistake, we understand it was a mistake, but at least do the right thing and turn themselves in,” Delores Watson said.

“We have no hatred for them in our hearts, but we just want to see Jarvis’ killers brought to justice.”
