Mother And Baby Pushed On Subway Platform

Partial Yonge-University Subway Shutdown A Hassle For Afternoon Commuters

Police have charged a Toronto woman after she allegedly pushed another woman who was walking with her baby at Bay subway station.

Shortly before noon Friday, the 33-year-old victim was walking on the westbound platform with her six-month-old child, when the accused pushed them towards the tracks, officers say.

Luckily, the woman and baby avoided falling onto the track level.

Police have charged 49-year-old Anne Carruthers with assault and mischief endangering life. She is scheduled to appear in court Saturday morning.
