A Gravenhurst man has been charged with murder following a house fire in that left one woman dead.
Marion Deacon, 46, was found without vital signs in her home at
6 Doner Street, near Highway 404 and Stouffville Road, on Sunday.
The mother of three was later pronounced dead in hospital.
However, it wasn’t the fire that killed her. A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries to the head.
Her boyfriend, Paul Kenyon, 43, has been charged with second-degree murder.
He was found conscious outside the home after the fire and was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Kenyon remains in hospital in custody.
