Authorities executed nearly 30 search warrants early Wednesday in what appears to be an operation targeting organized crime and illegal weapons.

A Dufferin Street security store near Highway 401 was one of as many as 27 raids carried out in the predawn hours.

Cops descended on Spy Depot Security at 3271 Dufferin St. just after 5am. No one was inside when investigators entered the store.

Toronto police hit another location Wednesday -- an apartment building on Denton Avenue, near Victoria Park and Danforth. One man was taken into custody there and transferred to York Regional Police for processing.

The raids are reportedly part of a York Regional Police-OPP joint effort targeting organized crime.

It’s not known exactly how many arrests have been made so far.
