Nearly three dozen people across the province, including Toronto, are facing charges after a massive OPP child pornography investigation.
Two young victims have been identified, OPP Chief Julian Fantino said Wednesday. One of the children is in Ontario and the other is outside Canada.
"Every image of child pornography represents a child victim. Every trading or transmission of that image represents a re-victimization of that child. The police services associated with the Provincial Strategy remain steadfast in their resolve to hunt down these child predators and keep our communities safe," Fantino said.
In all, 44 search warrants were executed leading to a total of 122 charges against 35 suspects, who hail from places including Sudbury, Ottawa, London, Collingwood and Toronto.
Authorities said additional arrests are pending as the investigation continues.
Since the OPP's Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation was created in 2006, 1,130 people have been charged.
