Second Teen Dies After Nearly Drowning On Wednesday

The second teen pulled from a condominium swimming pool on Wednesday has died.

Michael Lee and his friend, Deep Engineer, were swimming in the pool near McCowan Rd. and Finch Ave. E. when they got into trouble in the six-foot deep end.

Lee was transported to Sick Kids Hospital and was on life support, but he died on Friday. Engineer was pronounced dead on arrival at the Scarborough Hospital on Birchmount Rd.

The 14-year-olds had just graduated from Henry Kelsey Senior Public School on Huntingwood Dr. and were set to start high school in September.

On Friday, two Brooklyn, New York boys were pulled from a hotel swimming pool. One was revived and transported to Sick Kids Hospital. The other, was rushed to Toronto East General Hospital without vital signs.
