A spate of recent drownings – four deaths in the past week alone – has Queen’s Park looking at tougher pool safety regulations.

Currently, Ontario does not require lifeguards at most condo and hotel pools.

A 12-year-old boy attending a soccer tournament died at a hotel pool, while two teenage boys drowned at an apartment complex pool

The health ministry is investigating.

The latest case involved a 13-year-old Bradford boy who taken out of his family’s pool without vital signs just before 9pm Tuesday.
