After issuing a Canada-wide warrant, police have arrested a Toronto man in connection with a Danforth Rd. murder.

On Sunday July 25, police arrested Sharmake Abdi, 26 (pictured, left side) and charged him with first degree murder in for the July 14th death of David Darcy, 37.

Another suspect, Anthony Wong, 29 (pictured, right side) of Brampton, is still at large.

Police say that Darcy got into an altercation outside of a house on Magnolia Rd. He was jumped, stabbed once in the chest and abdomen area.

Darcy escaped in his navy blue 1999 Ford Explorer and tried driving to Scarborough Grace Hospital. He collapsed at a nearby gas station.

Emergency crews arrived and he was pronounced dead at Sunnybrook Hospital.

Several witnesses came forward and police identified the two suspects, Abdi also known as “Tall man” and “Slim” and Wong, otherwise known as “King.”

Wong is described as:
  • Black
  • 6’3”
  • 150lbs
  • Has a shaved head

Investigators believe there is an association between the two suspects and the victim, but have no evidence of a gang connection.

Both suspects are known to police and have past violent crime charges.

Anyone with information on the case or the whereabouts of Anthony Wong is asked to contact police at (416) 808-7400 or Crime Stoppers at (416) 222-TIPS.
