The mystery artist behind some unusual pieces of artwork that turned up in the Humber River today has been revealed.
The inukshuk-like sculptures are the work of local photographer Peter Riedel, 48, according to the Toronto Star.
Riedel waded into the river Sunday afternoon and spent four hours balancing the rocks. He was inspired when he saw a man doing the same thing years ago in Vancouver’s English Bay.
Residents in the area thought the sculptures were the work of engineering students. Riedel was thrilled to see his work popping up in various media outlets across the city Tuesday morning.
