TO175: Then And Now Photos Part 1

Toronto celebrates its 175th birthday on March 6, and leading up to the big event CityNews.ca will be posting stories, photos, and video about this city, past and present.

As part of our ongoing celebration of Toronto's 175th anniversary, we've compiled a two part series in which we sought to create modern counterparts for vintage photos borrowed from the city's archives.

Of course time and human hands have altered some of these locations rendering precise replication difficult, but we hope our compilation still offers an interesting and enjoyable look at a few parts of the city, then and now.
