Just in time for the start of the school year, the TTC will run extra buses, streetcars and subways on select routes across the city to help ease crowding and provide more reliable service.

Starting Sunday, the transit body has planned more frequent service not only for the morning and afternoon rush hours, but also during off-peak times.

Ridership has been steadily rising and the TTC says the changes will help meet the demand.

The TTC is also taking steps to improve the customer experience after a number of gaffes over the past several months.

On August 23rd, the TTC Customer Service Advisory panel released a report with dozens of recommendations on everything from hiring practices and courtesy to keeping the system clean.
