Victim, Paul Maasland

A murder victim found earlier this week at a Bracebridge boat launch has been identified as a Toronto man.

Paul Maasland's body was discovered on Monday, the same day he was reported missing.

The OPP, Toronto and Peel police began investigating, and a day later, Maasland’s SUV was found abandoned in Mississauga. It is a blue 2009 Subaru Forester, plate number ATFY625.

The 55-year-old had an extensive resume and has been a CEO or high-ranking executive with several firms.

There’s no word yet how he was killed or any speculation on motive.

If you can help trace Maasland’s final movements last Sunday and Monday, call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
