It’s the unofficial end of summer Monday, as the 132nd CNE comes to a close.
The midway is coming to a halt, the airshow is being grounded and yes, even the food building is being locked up tight for another year.
But this year’s CNE wasn’t without its hiccups: officials were forced to cancel Saturday’s airshow due to high winds.
The CNE wraps up just as kids get set to head back to the pencils, books, and teachers dirty looks when schools resume Tuesday.
And once classes are back in session, there will be lots more little one on Toronto’s streets. Police are urging motorists to pay particular attention when driving in school zones.
According to police, a common mistake drivers made last year was failing to stop for school buses with flashing lights. This blunder can cost $400 to $2000 and six demerit points for a first offence.
