It’s a famous line from a famous movie but it appears Arthur Smitherman didn’t learn his lesson.

George’s older brother is supporting Rob Ford in Toronto’s race for mayor and he’s also running for his own seat on city council.

Smitherman, 54, is running in Ward 8, which is currently represented by Anthony Perruza. Perruza has held the riding since 2006.

Smitherman told the Toronto Sun he and his brother have never seen eye-to-eye politically and haven’t been close for years.

In an interesting twist, Ford’s own brother has decided to join the family business: Doug Ford is running for a seat on city council – and he’s also the campaign manager to Rob.
