As many as a million people jammed Toronto’s streets Saturday night into Sunday morning, witnessing everything from inflatable clown heads wedged in an alleyway to two brave souls baring it all at University of Toronto’s Hart House (photos not included!).
Attendees of this year’s
Nuit Blanche got to experience the spectacle of more than 130 projects, put together painstakingly by more than 500 artists.
There were massive undertakings, like the E-Tower, which gives visitors the power to control the CN Tower's light display with text messages.
And there were smaller, but no less impressive installations like Allegory For A Rock Opera, nestled right beside Citytv’s home on Victoria Street.
This display offered audiences a new version of the boss, Bruce Springsteen, with two singers battling back and forth belting out his classic hits. The songs are translated into Italian, sung in opera style.
With so many people flooding the downtown core, the TTC offered all-night service in some areas and allowed festival goers to park for free at TTC commuter lots.
