Solomon has been recognized by the RTDNA for excellence in a feature story and by her community for her commitment to raising awareness for the causes she supports through her reporting and volunteer work.

Committed to excellence in her field, Solomon was also recognized by the York Regional Police with an Award of Excellence for her work on a feature story about marijuana grow operations in Vaughan and Richmond Hill. She is a two-time recipient of the gold medal from International Association of Audio Information Services, a non-profit organization that strives to maintain access to information for the visually or hearing impaired.

Committed to her community, Solomon supports abuse prevention and education programs in the Greater Toronto Region as a committee member of York Region Abuse Program's (YRAP) annual Children's Champion Gala. In 2009, Solomon was selected as the recipient of the Boost Foundation’s "Voice of Courage Award" for her work in raising awareness of child abuse prevention and intervention.
