Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Dwight emigrated to Canada in 1976. Growing up in Toronto’s infamous Jane and Finch Corridor, Dwight became frustrated with how his community was covered by the media and believed his perspective could make a difference. A graduate of Ryerson University’s prestigious Radio and Television Arts program, Dwight has been an anchor and reporter in Toronto for over a decade. He has received numerous community awards and also had the lead story on CityNews’ Gemini win for best newscast, and a top story for the Edward R. Murrow win for best newscast.
Dwight spends a lot of time giving motivational speeches to schools and community groups. He has been the master of ceremonies for a hundreds of community events. He enjoys reading, creative writing and playing with his two daughters.
