Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Carl Gunnarsson left practice early Monday after appearing to injure his right leg following a hard collision with teammate Jay Rosehill.

The team said Gunnarsson will make the trip to Calgary -- where the team will kick off a three-game Western road swing -- but his status for Tuesday's game against the Flames is unknown.

The 25-year-old will have his knee looked at by doctors when the team arrives in Calgary.

In 55 games with the Leafs this season, Gunnarsson has recorded 16 points, 18 penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating.

Following Tuesday's game, Toronto faces the Oilers in Edmonton the next night before closing out the trip against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.

The Leafs have dropped three straight games and are coming off a 5-0 blowout to the Montreal Canadiens Saturday.

Head coach Ron Wilson would not confirm his starting goalie for Tuesday. James Reimer was pulled after allowing four goals in the second period on Saturday, before Jonas Gustavsson came on in relief to start the third.
