CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers rookie guard Kyrie Irving did some non-contact work during practice as he continues to recover from a concussion.

Irving was on the floor Monday for the first time since last week when he was accidentally kneed in the head at Miami. The 19-year-old has missed two games with the injury.

Coach Byron Scott says Irving, the No. 1 overall draft pick, took part in fastbreak and shooting drills. Irving will be re-evaluated by team doctors before he's allowed to fully join practice.

Scott did not have any update on centre Anderson Varejao, who broke his right wrist in a loss to Milwaukee on Friday. The team is expected to provide a timeline on his return in the next few days.

Cleveland next plays on Wednesday against Indiana.
