Sure, it looks hot and sunny outside – but, Environment Canada warns, it might not last.
A special weather statement has been issued for much of southern Ontario, including Toronto.
And that warning includes the risk of hail.
Severe thunderstorms could begin Wednesday afternoon and would spread east towards the Golden Horseshoe later in the evening.
All that warm and humid weather we’ve been enjoying – or at least tolerating – will mix with an unstable airmass and a disturbance approaching from the U.S. Midwest. That could trigger strong to severe thunderstorms in the province.
And it just gets better. Environment Canada also cautions that there is potential for damaging winds, torrential downpours, intense lightning, a risk of large hail, and isolated tornadoes from these thunderstorms.
