Speak And Be Heard On The Web

Every Saturday at 6:30 PM Citytv airs a half hour program of public testimonials, performances and real life drama culled from the best submissions of the week. Speakers Corner is an interactive street level soapbox right at our new location at The Jays Shop in the Rogers Centre.

Our video booth lets everyday citizens have their say. Just push the green button on one of our automated video booths to speak your mind. From proposals to politics, from personal ads to current affairs, Speakers Corner empowers people to open their hearts and minds and be heard by the viewing public!

We are building a bigger, better Speakers Corner! We're no longer at Queen and John, but we'll be relocating soon to our brand new Citytv at Dundas Square in the Olympic Spirit Building! In the meantime, come on down and have your say at:

  Speakers Corner FAQ's
Q: How do I get on Speakers Corner?

Come on down to our booth at the Muchstore or at the Rogers Centre. Our mobile Speakers Corner booths are free. All you have to do is push the green button, look into the lens and speak on whatever topic you select. Everyone is welcome to speak about their choice of subject that they believe deserves air time on television.

Q: What kind of pieces get picked to be on air?

The editors are looking for the segments which are the most compelling. This can mean the most opinionated, the best expressed, the funniest, the most passionate, the most human, or sometimes the most contentious. Because Speakers Corner is used on our Newscasts as well, we are likely to select pieces which are topical. The more concise and the better presented your view or performance is, the more likely you are to get on air.
