Kevin Carrington
Reporter, CityNews
After studying at Seneca College, Carrington stayed close to his Barbadian roots and began working as co-host of Kaiso Rising, a program on York University’s CHRY105.5 FM radio station, in 2002.
At CHRY, he was urged by staff to join their daily, spoken-word news program called News Now. In 2001, Carrington followed in his parents’ footsteps and began working at the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). Here, his passion for broadcasting continued and he began doing regular fill-ins as their Transit Reporter on Breakfast Television, CP24 and 680NEWS.
An active member of the community, Carrington has hosted past events all over the city, from the Jerk & Jazz Festival at Queens Park, to the National Council of Barbadian Associations Sickle Cell Brunch, the Barbados Charity Ball, to the annual TTC Rodeo & Family Day.
