A recent addition to the Citytv news team, Mary Kitchen brings a wealth of broadcasting experience to her new role as entertainment anchor.
Reporting on the entertainment stories making headlines in the GTA – and beyond –Mary’s knowledge of all things fashion, music, television, film and the arts keeps viewers on the pulse of Toronto’s vibrant entertainment scene night after night. From red carpets to exclusive interviews with national and international artists and celebrities, Mary delivers all the latest updates nightly on CityNews.
In her previous role as a reporter for Fashion Television Channel, Mary travelled around the world interviewing entertainers including Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna, Wyclef Jean, Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman. As host of Red Carpet Diary at the Toronto International Film Festival, she has engaged in candid interviews with A-list celebrities including of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Clint Eastwood and Woody Allen.
Other notable highlights include serving as fashion correspondent for eTalk, ET Canada, The Marilyn Denis Show, The Gill Deacon Show and Fashion File, in addition to working as an actor and producer in both film and television.
Born and raised in Rothesay, New Brunswick, Mary earned a degree in humanistic studies with a minor in English literature from McGill University. Upon graduating, she won a scholarship to the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. Mary completed her master's degree in communication and culture with a specialty in performance at York University.
