Kathryn Humphreys

Sports Anchor & Reporter, CityNews

Kathryn Humphreys joined Citytv in 1997 working on CityNews Weekend before moving over to CityNews Tonight. Kathryn enjoys the life of a Sports Specialist and says her personal career highlight is when “somebody tells me that they don't normally like sports, but they watch me because I make it entertaining. There's nothing better!”

Born and raised in Oshawa, Kathryn grew up loving the game of hockey and all things sports! She attended the University of Toronto where she earned an English degree with a minor in History and sat on the Victoria College Athletic Executive Board. Kathryn began her broadcasting career as an intern in the sports department at local news stations in Toronto and Boston. She returned to cottage country to work at a local radio station in Bracebridge, reporting news, sports and weather.

When not discussing sports news, Kathryn loves to jog and plays almost every sport – except for curling. She enjoys snowboarding in the winter, and paddle boarding in the summer. However, her most favourable pastime would be relaxing at the cottage with family and friends. She is also an active supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society, and a monthly donor to Ronald McDonald House.
