Prior to joining Citytv, Anne Mroczkowski worked as a radio copywriter in British Columbia and later as the news writer for Global Television. Upon joining the Citytv family as a newswriter in 1978, Anne quickly moved from behind-the-scenes to on-camera reporting. Anne was a true generalist in the sense that her reporting work exposed her to stories ranging from politics, labour, business, health and women's issues. Today, Anne continues to claim her position as the long time co-anchor for "CityNews", where she continues to report on the news of the day out in the field, along with her in-studio anchoring duties.
Anne's anchoring career with Citytv first started when she landed the role of the first anchor for the Weekend News Edition, when it launched in 1983. A year later, she moved to "CityNews Tonight" at 10:00 p.m. - where she served until 1988. Since then, Anne has been giving viewers their top breaking news stories, every weeknight, as co-anchor of "CityNews at Six" - a coveted position she shares with long time colleague, Gord Martineau. Together, Anne and Gord are the longest serving co-anchors in the history of Canadian television news. Anne can also be seen on CP24's monthly edition of "The Mayor", where viewers have a chance to address their concerning issues with the city's current mayor. When Anne is not busy covering issues out on the street or in the newsroom, she makes the time for philanthropic work, which includes the advocacy and fundraising for literacy, breast cancer awareness and palliative care. Anne Mroczkowski is truly one of the city's most recognized and well respected journalists.

What I Love About My Job
