Background:
Born and raised in Montreal, Gord started a career in radio straight out of high school. He worked at a Halifax radio station for two and a half years then moved to the news department at Montreal's top Anglo radio station CJAD. Developing an interest in television, he did a short stint at CJCH-TV in Halifax before becoming the weekend anchor at CFCF-TV, Montreal's No. 1 English News and Entertainment Station. Since joining Citytv in 1977, Gord has earned his reputation as one of Toronto's favourite anchors.

Community Involvement:
Gord had traveled to various countries around the world including the Philippians, Botswana and Trinidad, to document the journeys of children who rely on Operation Herbie and the Herbie Fund to provide life-saving or life-altering surgeries which are unavailable in their homelands. Gord has been instrumental the annual fundraiser Citytv Herbie Day which raises money in support of this cause. He is also active with Sick Kids Hospital, Variety Club, Kidney Foundation of Canada, MS Society of Canada, Food Share, Community Living Ontario, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Starlight Foundation, Mt. Sinai Hospital Auxiliary and Kids Help Phone.
