Born and raised in Montreal, Gord started a career in radio directly out of high school. He worked at a Halifax radio station for two and a half years, where he then moved to the news department at Montreal's top Anglo radio station, CJAD. Developing an interest in television, he did a short stint at CJCH-TV in Halifax before becoming the weekend anchor at CFCF-TV; Montreal's number one English news and entertainment station. Since joining Citytv in 1977, Gord has earned his reputation as one of Toronto's favourite anchors.
