Mark Dailey

Co-Anchor of "CityNews Tonight" and "The Voice" of Citytv

In 1968, Mark began his career as a radio and television news reporter in Ohio. He was a radio anchor/crime reporter in Detroit for two years before coming to Toronto (CHUM) in 1974. He joined "CityPulse" in 1979. Mark served as an assignment editor and producer before taking the reigns of the Crime Beat for more than ten years. He's been the anchor of "CityPulse Tonight" for almost a decade.

EDUCATION:

Law Enforcement Program at Youngstown State University, Ohio.

EXTRACURRICULAR AND AWARDS:

Mark is active in the community serving a number of community and charitable boards and is active with both Big Brothers and Variety Village.

Mark’s community service awards list includes: Etobicoke Neighbourhood Watch Police Award; Annual Handicapped Children's Fishing Derby Award from local Moose club; and Multiple winner of the Metro Police and Toronto Fire Department "Best Media Coverage of the Year."

Mark also won the prestigious Dan MacArthur RTND Award of Merit (1981) for "CityPulse" NewSerial "I Want Work."

LITTLE KNOWN FACT:

Mark has had some parallel careers as a police officer in Ohio, a part-time truck driver and roles in the private security and music businesses.
