Anchor, CP24; Reporter, "CityNews"

Muhammad's background spans three continents.  Born and raised in Toronto, his parents are Tanzanian, and his family roots trace back to India.  His career began at the age of eighteen, when his first story was published in the Toronto Star.  Soon afterwards, he was appointed to the Star's Community Editorial Board, where he got his first taste of a 24-hour newsroom. After graduating from Columbia University in New York City, he spent time at CTV Newsnet before moving to "Canada AM."  He then took a position as Associate Producer for Newsworld at the CBC and within months, was assigned to a special investigative unit covering the Federal Elections at "The National." He left to produce two current affairs talk shows (I on Politics and I on Media for Ichannel), before joining the "CityNews" / CP24 teams in June 2005.

In his spare time, Muhammad plays competitive ball hockey, has trained in Jeet Kun Do, and hopes to one day compete in the Scrabble Olympics!
