Dawn Chubai
Live Eye Host, Breakfast Television
As co-host of Breakfast Television viewers can always count on Dawn to start the morning off with a cheerful smile, putting them in a good mood - even before the coffee is poured!
An Edmonton native, it was Dawn’s singing career that gave her a start in television. After making numerous appearances on a local Edmonton show, it was only a matter of time before she became a regular on television. Dawn was offered a Weather and Traffic position on ‘Big Breakfast’ and ‘News at Noon’, and later became the main weather presenter on the station's 6 o'clock News and News at Night. In 2004, she moved to Vancouver, landing principal acting roles in film, television and commercials. It wasn’t long before Dawn returned to her true passion and became a dedicated member of Citytv’s Breakfast Television team.
Working at Citytv, Dawn enjoys the variety of Breakfast Television and the fact that everyday she is able to learn something new and meet people from all walks of life. One of her more memorable moments working at Citytv would be her interview with Ted Rogers for his newly released autobiography in 2008.. Dawn says he was an inspiration to her and was thrilled and honoured to interview him. Other career highlights include hosting Realty Television and City Cooks.
Outside of Breakfast Television, Dawn continues to work in the film and television industry. Twi-hards may recognize her from her cameo in Twilight Eclipse as a news reporter! She also continues to sing, performing at many corporate and charity events and performing along side Vancouver’s own Dr. Dal Richards and his Orchestra. Dawn puts in many volunteer hours in the Lower Mainland including Big Sisters and SOS Children’s Charities, to name a few. She is a great supporter of all charities in support of children
