Dag Sharman

Dag's career has improved greatly from his days reading death notices on radio in the Ottawa Valley. He left there to work in television and radio in Northern Ontario, then went to Winnipeg, where he won awards for his coverage of the Winnipeg floods. Since moving to CKVU in 1997, he has been nominated for a Peabody Award and covered stories ranging from the Reena Virk trials to the Glen Clark and Ross Rebagliatti scandals. Since moving to CKVU in 1997, Dag has covered some of the biggest stories including the Kelly Ellard trials, the trial of Premier Glen Clark, and the awarding of the 2010 Winter Games to Vancouver. His work has earned him a nomination for a Peabody award, and most recently a nomination for a 2004 Canadian Association of Broadcasters Gold Ribbon award for his 30-minute special on the 2010 Olympic Decision.

Little known fact:

Dag was named after Dag Hammarskjold, the former Secretary General of the UN who was killed in a plane crash in the Congo in 1961.
