Mark Jardine

Citytv Reporter:

Mark Jardine grew up in Winnipeg and spent much of his youth playing soccer and baseball. As he grew older, he turned his attention to music but gave up aspirations of making any money at it when the neighbours wouldn't stop complaining. That's when he thought about broadcasting, and after graduating from a course in Winnipeg he headed north to Thompson to work at 610 CHTM radio. Five months later he moved to our sister station CKX in Brandon as a reporter and eventually found his way back to the city of Winnipeg, at Citytv.

Education:

Radio and Television program / Academy of Broadcasting Corporation

Extra Curricular:

In the middle of the lake or on a fairway, Mark seems to like having some sort of stick in his hand. He's competitive in nature, especially on the golf course with his friends. Most of all, Mark is just happy to be spending time with friends and family right here in the 'Peg'.

What I love about my job:

"You can't beat waking up in the morning and immediately you're excited about going to work.  Although calling it work seems wrong, I just refer to it as what I do during the day.  It constantly changes, one day you could be dressed in a teddy bear suit, (don't ask)  or spending three weeks in a courtroom covering a huge murder trial. No matter what the story is, you have to try and have fun, which is easy to do when you work with good people like I do."
