Host, Breakfast Television
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts back when JFK was still alive! He was the youngest of four children and had it good until his younger brother came along and it's been downhill ever since. Jon's childhood was spent as the proverbial class clown and artist in residence. Much to his mother's dismay that included drawing on the walls at home. After struggling through four years of high school Jon studied Fine Arts which lead him to exciting jobs in Atlantic City, Boston, and drawing "Fruity Pebbles" commercials in Los Angeles (he can still draw Fred and Barney in his sleep!)
His wandering spirit somehow led him to Winnipeg, and after 14 years on the comedy circuit perfoming with stars like Celine Dion, Tom Jones, and the Pillsbury Dough Boy (just to name a few) Jon was offered a job as the remote host for our breakfast television show, and he jumped at the chance to join the team.
Jon shares a very busy home with 2 teenage children, his wife Christine, and an animal menagerie including dogs, cats, fish and the odd crustacean.
Education:
Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree - Clark University
North American Institute of Animation - North Hollywood, California
Extracurricular:
When he's not in front of the camera Jon is on stage performing stand-up comedy across Canada for both private events and playing comedy clubs. He's currently illustrating his third children's book and is working on writing his first novel. Jon and his wife enjoy their time gardening and watching the Boston Red Sox. (when Jon isn't trying to pollinate pumpkins in the backyard!) Jon's an avid cook and often tries out recipes that are featured on Breakfast Television at home.
What I love about my job:
Jon considers it an honour to showcase Manitoba to the rest of Canada every morning.
Jon is currently working on setting the Guiness Book record for intake of Maxwell House coffee.
"I consider myself very lucky, as comedian George Burns once said "If you love what you do for a living then you will never go to work a day in your life" or something like that."
